James Cousler is a dedicated healthcare professional rooted in sports and physical therapy. He joined the team at Sports PT Lab and brings a wealth of experience and a genuine passion for health and wellness. With over a decade dedicated to fitness, strength training, and sports performance, James is not just committed but passionate about helping all athletes achieve their peak potential.

James earned his doctorate in Physical Therapy and a master’s in Athletic Training from Shenandoah University in 2023. His specialized training includes certifications as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), expertise in Dry Needling, and proficiency in Graston technique, all of which enable him to provide comprehensive care tailored to the needs of his patients.

His firsthand experience with physical therapy as a patient sets James apart. Sidelined by a career-ending injury during college football, he gained invaluable insights into the challenges of rehabilitation. This personal journey fuels his empathy and understanding as he guides his patients through recovery, whether they're aiming to return to the field, court, track, or water.

James enjoys spending time in nature hiking, running, backpacking, biking, and playing basketball and soccer on the weekends. James uses his Master's in Athletic Training to provide field and courtside coverage to local events and universities.

Currently focused on training for a triathlon, James emphasizes a holistic approach to health that goes beyond traditional exercise routines. He advocates for quality sleep, balanced nutrition, and engaging activities that challenge and inspire.

James believes that everyone's health journey begins with self-care that is both comprehensive and enjoyable. Through his expertise and personal journey, he strives to empower his patients to achieve their goals and live their best lives.
